A 3 inch x 20 inch Richlite board costs about $11.00. There is shipping and my first order I purchased 5 boards to lower the overall cost. Still haven't found slotted and radiused boards in 25.5 scale and 12 inch radius... except for custom ones. Not quite ready to spend that much for a fingerboard.

When sanded and polished with steel wool, black richlite looks and feels just like ebony. 22 slotted 26.1875″, and 25.34″ scale are available as well as un-slotted blanks. We recommend using a polyurethane glue adhesive when attaching to your banjo project. Fretboard popped right off--the titebond completely failed to adhere. I looked up the specs on Richlite and they recommend epoxy as the adhesive. They list devcon general purpose 5 minute epoxy as viable, so I mixed some up and clamped it. It seems to be holding, so far.
